My name is Dileep Gangolli and I, along with my wife Janice MacDonald, own Evanston Cellars.
Evanston Cellars is a wine and food lifestyle company based in the heart of the Midwest.
I am an avid gardener and wine maker. My serious interest in viticulture and enology (the science of wine) inspired me to create Evanston Cellars to share my passion of wine with those who want to learn more about wine or learn more about the wine industry here in the Midwest.
Forget California and France.
There are some wonderful wines produced right here in the Midwest including the states of Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. And they are meant to be enjoyed fresh and without formality.
Sweet, dry, white or red - it's about what you like and not what you are supposed to like.
Evanston Cellars offers tours of local wineries and vineyards. We also distribute wines and ciders. And if you want to learn more about wine, we produce special events that feature regional wine and food hosted at unique locations around Chicago and partner with acclaimed chefs.
We also create special wine tasting events at private homes.
Our goal is to educate consumers about the terroir of the Midwest and how the hybrid grapes that have been cultivated for our cold climates have a special character that cannot be found in other parts of the world.
